The Trashman published on 22 August. The fourth Freddie Omm book, it’s the most provocatively topical yet.

The first Omm book, Honour, is a dark comic thriller about cultures in collision: east, west, and everything between. The Trashman returns to noir, “luxury noir”. It’s set in Los Angeles, Paris, Milan and The Hague. Zoe, a fashion designer , is living at the centre of something she cannot name. A success built on influencing others. A spirituality that looks more like consumer heaven. A killer curating victims like fashion collections. It’s a world where beauty and image are weaponised, lives are content, politics are cruelly performative, and everyone is potentially disposable. It’s how we live today, a world where love may never find its way.

In this throwaway world,  it suggests, the Trashman is king, and the books asks—how disposable are you, how disposable are all of us?
